Abstract
The results of a retrospective clinical study on 198 cases of malignant skin tumors, which were managed in Busan National University Hospital from Jan. 1976 to Oct. 1981 with histopathological conformation, was presented.

Of all 198 cases, the most frequent malignant skin tumors include squamous cell carcinoma (40.9%), basal cell carcinoma (34.9%), Bowen¡¯s disease (13.6%). In age and sex distribution, the most prevalent age group in both squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma fell in 7th decade, but in other malignant skin tumors were 6th decade, and male was more frequently affected with male to female ratio of 1.44:1.

Basal cell carcinoma showed the most gratest predilection site in head and neck comprising 94.2%, and squamous cell carcinoma occured 69.2% of the cases in this area. However, other cancers occured most frequently in trunk (33.3%).

As to size of lesions, 51.2% of the total cases were 2~5cm in diameter, 40.4% were less then 2cm in diameter, but 8.4% were greater then 5cm diameter.

The best prognosis was seen in the group of surgical excision, and 5 cases (about 8%) of these cases showed recurrence.
